Home and Private Accommodation Students

Orbital is one of the largest Societies in the University of Bristol, existing to represent all first years who live of out traditional halls of accommodation. This includes all students (including mature students and those studying for second degrees) living:

  1. In University run Student Houses
  2. At home
  3. In Privately rented accommodation

Membership to Orbital allows you to take advantage of all our knowledge, facilities and resources. You will gain access to all of Orbital's events and activities throughout the year and most importantly during your Freshers' week. This includes a huge Hawaiian themed party on your first night at Bristol as well as a number of other parties, bar crawls, club nights and day trips. As an Orbital member you have the opportunity to join our sports teams and participate in the University's intramural sports league. There will also be plenty of socials organised throughout the year, as well as dirt cheap (possibly even free!) kit. More info on this is available on our sports page, or from our Sports Reps Saleem and Ali.

One of the most important resources we can offer you is us - the Orbital Committee. We will be there to support and entertain all our Orbital members through the next year. We will help you settle in to University life and make the most of your time in Bristol. We will also be on hand to solve any problems and answer any questions you might have. We have planned a wide range of activities and events for your first week in Bristol where you can meet and get to know fellow freshers.

Membership to Orbital costs £21.25 for the year. You will receive an Orbital wristband and an Orbital key chain. The wristband which gives you entry to the events we have organised for freshers and the year. It also allows you to take advantage of plenty of offers across Bristol. Please send this before 25th September to ensure you are able to pick up your wristband in time for our massive welcome party!

Come to our welcome meeting at 2:30pm on Saturday 27th September in the Avon Gorge Room, 5th floor, Students' Union, Queens Road, Clifton to pick up your key chain and wristband. The welcome meeting will be a great place to ask us any questions and find out all the details for Freshers week. If you haven't signed up before 28th September then feel free to come to the welcome meeting to sign up.

Our first event is in the evening of Saturday 27th September, so if you want to come along you need to have joined us by then. Otherwise, you can sign up in the Orbital office from 1pm-3pm daily or at FRESH on Thursday and Friday.
