Orbital is one of the largest student societies in Bristol University, and exists to bring together all first year students who live in Student Houses, at home, or in private accommodation. Orbital is an active and social community, which during your first year organises events throughout Freshers' week, and a continuous program of social and sporting events for the rest of the year.

Orbital has strong links with all the best bars and clubs in Bristol to give you a great range of events and to provide you with a diverse introduction to what Bristol has to offer as a city. In addition to this, Orbital provides you with the opportunity to meet hundreds of new people and have an amazing first year.

Orbital isn't just about drinking and clubbing; it also runs several successful sports teams and tournaments, hosts massive charity events, provides representation for you at Student's Union Council meetings and on a committee with hall JCRs. In addition it acts as your first port of call should you ever need advice or support.

Think of Orbital as a massive social network and facilitator, and feel free to get in touch with any of our committee members, we would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions should you need anything.

Membership in Orbital is automatic for all students living in University-owned Student Houses, but all first year students living outside of halls are eligible to join. If you are living at home or in private accommodation in your first year then get involved; Orbital is as much about you as it is freshers in Student Houses.
